Fiscal Sponsorship for ASWAT
ASWAT meaning Voices-is a group of Palestinian Lesbian feminist women, setting up a new organization. Housed in Kayan, we are a fiscal sponsor for their funding and provide a framework for them to work within our organization. These women are the first to organize activities and create services to meet the needs of the Palestinian lesbian community, one which is not yet out for fear of social consequences and threats to their safety and livelihood.
International cooperations:
The UN Committee on the Status of Women, Beijing +10 Review sessions in March 2005, initiating a delegation to the CSW, and preparing and presenting a report.
The Euro-Med Social Platform for Civil Society.
Cooperation with Institutions, Government and Communities
We use our expertise in gender issues and in women's rights and status to build dialogues and cooperative work with local Arab authorities, government agencies, and community centers.
